Save the Date for the Annual Fiesta 5k for ALS Research!
Lace up your running shoes and get ready to run on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the annual Fiesta 5k for ALS Research. The Packard Center’s signature event, which starts at Power Plant Live! in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is right around the corner and registration will open in early January. Last year, the Fiesta 5k welcomed more than 1,500 participants on 60 teams, raising over $240,000 — all in the name of ALS research.
The annual event serves both as a vital fundraiser for the Packard Center’s research programs and to unite the ALS community in and around the Baltimore area. “The Fiesta 5k helps generate the resources we need in the research community to be as aggressive as we want, and need, to be if we're going to solve this,” notes Packard Development Director Milan Karol. “That means that the donors to the Packard Center are truly partners in the work we're doing, every step of the way.”
Companies and corporate sponsors also play an important part of race day. Corporate sponsorship helps to defray vital race expenses and assist the Center in promoting the event to a larger audience. This year’s corporate sponsors will benefit from a variety of visability opportunities leading up to the race as well as on race day. “Words can't describe how grateful we are for the outpouring of support every May that comes from our friends and donors,” notes Karol. “To be out there on race day, and to see people arriving decked out in their colorful shirts, everyone coming together for a shared purpose--it's really a great and important day.”
