Packard’s new senior associate director of development brings passion and enthusiasm to her new role.

The Packard Center welcomes Gina Scalise to the team.

Collaboration is at the core of the Packard Center. As an entity funded solely by philanthropy, the Center engages researchers from across the globe to work together to discover the causes and treatments of ALS.  So when it came to hiring a senior fundraiser, it was critical to find a person who embodied the same collaborative spirit.

In early February, Gina Scalise joined the Packard team. “I’m excited to be at the Packard Center and to contribute to the mission of ending ALS.”

Scalise has already hit the ground running and has a long to-do list even after just a few short weeks on the job. Focusing on the identification and cultivation of individuals who wish to make a financial impact on the Center’s research, Gina will work to provide more resources for Packard researchers to pursue their promising projects.

“Philanthropy can be the greatest agent for change,” she states. “Together, we can make an even greater impact on the Center and ALS research as a whole.”

Scalise will also work closely with the Center’s annual fund program, the marketing and communications department, and the Packard Center’s Board of Governors.  Scalise will work to continually bring together patients, family members, and caregivers with the opportunities to support the science that aims to end ALS.

A native of upstate New York, Scalise relocated to Baltimore after positions at Rochester Regional Health and the State University of New York at Geneseo where she worked as a Major Gifts Officer and Director of Leadership Giving. “Working for Hopkins is truly a dream job,” noted Scalise.  “I’m grateful to be part of such an impressive and impactful organization. Every day, I am inspired by the dedication and passion of the ALS community and am excited for what the future holds.”

This self-professed foodie and travel and fitness enthusiast is excited for challenges that lie ahead in her position and in her new city.  “I plan on exploring everything that this dynamic city has to offer!”
