    ONGOING ALS RESEARCH PROJECTS

ALS Association Patient and Caregiver Support Groups

Meeting located throughout Maryland and Virginia

The ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter organizes resource support groups throughout the region to help PALS, families and caregivers cope with living with ALS. Led by professionals, group members share their personal experiences and their knowledge of the disease. They learn they are not alone nor without help or hope.

Resource support groups are available in Maryland and in Virginia. Some groups are available for caregivers only and other groups are open to PALS, their family members and friends. These groups are designed to share information and strategies for preserving independence and quality of life for PALS and caregivers. Groups will occasionally offer speakers on relevant topics.

Need more information about joining a support group?  Read Why Come to a Resource Support Group Meeting or contact the group leader for more information. Before attending a meeting for the first time, please contact the group leader to confirm the meeting date and time.
